FAQ

Short answers to common questions.

Which network does Privy use?

Solana mainnet only. There is no devnet or test mode, so every transfer uses real funds.

Who holds the keys to disposable, payment and proxy wallets?

Privy stores them encrypted and signs only after you approve with your connected wallet. You can export any of them, except a proxy wallet while its transfer is executing.

Do these features make me anonymous?

No. They keep your main address out of direct view, but all Solana transactions are public and can be linked by analysis. See Security & privacy.

Who pays network fees?

The sending wallet. Each proxy pays its own fee, and withdrawals are paid by the wallet you withdraw from.

What if someone pays an expired link?

Privy still records payments sent to the address for 30 days after expiry, marks them After expiry, and you can withdraw them.

My proxy transfer is paused. Is my SOL lost?

No. It sits in a proxy wallet you own. Use Continue transfer to resume or recover it to it to an address you choose.

What is Send (ZK)?

A planned feature, marked Coming soon in the app. It isn’t available yet.

Can I use these features through the API?

Not yet. The Privy API covers token data, quotes, your Swap account and trading. Wallets, payment links and proxy transfers are available in the app only.
