What cookies and browser storage are
Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser and receives back on later requests. Local storage is similar, but stays in your browser and is not sent to the server automatically.
What Privy uses
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
| privy_session | Cookie (HTTP-only, secure)Strictly necessary | Keeps you signed in after your wallet signs the sign-in message, and protects trading requests. | Up to 12 hours, or until you sign out |
| privy:wallet | Local storageFunctional (requested by you) | Remembers which wallet app you chose so it can reconnect automatically. | Until you disconnect or clear site data |
| privy:slippage-bps | Local storageFunctional (requested by you) | Saves the slippage tolerance you set when you are not signed in. | Until you change it or clear site data |
Your wallet extension may keep its own storage. That is controlled by the wallet, not by Privy.
Necessary session and security storage
The session cookie is strictly necessary: without it you cannot sign in or trade. It cannot be read by page scripts, is only sent over HTTPS, and contains no wallet keys.
Preferences
Your wallet choice and slippage setting are stored only because you chose them, so they are exempt from consent. When you are signed in, your slippage setting is saved to your account instead.
Analytics
In production, Privy uses Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not set cookies or store identifiers in your browser, and it reports usage in aggregate. Privy uses no advertising, tracking pixels or cross-site tracking. Because only exempt storage is used, Privy does not show a cookie banner.
Third-party storage
Privy does not load third-party scripts that set cookies. Token logos are loaded as images and do not set cookies on Privy’s behalf.
Managing your preferences
You can sign out to remove the session cookie, disconnect your wallet, or clear this site’s data in your browser settings to remove everything. If you block the session cookie, you will not be able to sign in.
